Mosaics is an art form which uses small pieces of materials placed together to create a unified whole. The materials commonly used are marble, tile, stone, glass, pottery, mirror, shells, or some other material to create a beautiful work of art.
The earliest known examples of mosaics made of different materials were found at a temple building in Mesopotamia. And are dated to the second half of the 3rd millennium bc. They consist of pieces of colored stones, shells, and ivory. Mosaic art has a message that speaks to our imagination, even from centuries pass from around the world.
